Technical Writer/Trainer
AMS Services, Inc., the industry leader in insurance agency automation
products, is seeking a technical writer to provide documentation and
internal training for AMS' implementation of PeopleSoft. Following
approved PeopleSoft standards, the analyst will provide technical
writing, training, systems testing, and follow-up services.
The writer will be responsible for PeopleSoft technical writing
assignments, including the development of software documentation and
on-line help. Represents the department as an active member during the
product development cycle and on assigned development project teams.
Works closely with analysts and other subject matter experts to clearly
understand the function of PeopleSoft software. Creates instructional
reference and technical materials. Ensures that documentation products
stay within the agreed upon scope and business need. Meets approved
project schedules and deadlines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Trains AMS employees in all aspects of PeopleSoft, including...
* Accounts Payable/Receivable
* Financial Reports
* Purchase Orders
* Inventory Control
* Order Entry
* Billing
* Customized enhancements.
* Develops and participates in system testing plans.
* Assists in developing and documenting AMS workflow processes.
* Creates documentation (both written and on-line) for all
customized modules developed by AMS.
* Will require some travel to perform training duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge of Financial Applications & Distribution operations a
plus.
* Two or more years training and/or technical writing and large
project management experience.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in an
unsupervised environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as
superior listening skills.
* Ability to create and maintain supportive relationships with
employees.
* Knowledge of PeopleSoft products helpful.
* Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
* Ability to understand and incorporate PeopleSoft standards of
document design and style.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office
* Experience and/or degree in Writing, Journalism, Technical
Communication, Information Design, Employee Training.
