Subject:VBA Macro Help needed From:Caralee McDonald <camcdonald -at- SAI2000 -dot- COM> Date:Wed, 14 Oct 1998 15:25:16 -0400
Hello,
I was working on a macro that would find a hidden text that began with RQD
and then was followed by a variety of numbers (RQD14.8, RQD854.76, etc.). I
was able to create a macro that would find each item and mark them as index
entries, then insert an index at the end of the document. The purpose is to
be able to look up each item and know what page it is on. The only problem
is that an index will be sorted alphabetically, so the numbers will appear
like this:
RQD1
RQD11
RQD11.1
etc, instead of in numerical order. So what I need to be able to do is to
sort this list (I don't think you can change the sorting of an index), or I
need to be able to find each instance, dump it into a table, and also insert
the page number it is on. I have not had any luck so far.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. I am able to create a table,
but cannot figure out how to get my selections into it, especially the page
numbers. I have tried online help, as well as an 800 page book on Word VBA
that we purchased, but no go. The explanations seem to be directed at
someone familiar with VB programming, which I am not.
