I disagree with Mark Nichols 100%.
"A growing number of us are sick and tired of his
fascist rules. Under the guise of moderating this group to only talk
about technical communication, Eric wipes out all dissension and topics
which he personally feels are irrelevant. Hey Eric - some of us would
like to hear those ideas!"
I am grateful that Eric moderates the list as much as he does. To say
that "Eric has fascist rules" is a good example of one writer's opinion
broadcast on the wrong list.
If Mark wants to spend his time writing and reading controversial,
inflammatory, or other non-related subjects, let him create and maintain
his own list. I subscribed to this list because it is dedicated to
technical communication topics.
I doubt very much that Eric is "a laughing stock of the technical
communications community."
I will stay with the technical communications community's TECHWR-L list.
