Mac
GoLive Cyberstudio 3.1 -- 5 (the only Mac tool given a review)

Windows
Macromedia Dreamweaver 1.2 -- 5
NetObjects Fusion 3.0 -- 4
Symantec Visual Page 2.0 -- 4
Adobe PageMill 3.0 -- 3
Microsoft FrontPage 98 -- 3

That line about Cyberstudio being "the only Mac tool given a review"
is the culprit. That line is misleading because it implies that the
Windows programs listed separately do not come in a Macintosh
version. The truth is that all the programs listed under Windows--
with the possible, sole exception of Visual Page--are also available
for the Mac.

Visual Page and FrontPage are both available for the Mac, though the Mac
feature set of each lags behind the Windows product. DreamWeaver came out
first on Mac, as I recall, as did PageMill. The feature set for Fusion/Mac
also lags a bit, but mainly in the area of database connections, which
isn't a serious hangup as it connects to the most popular db programs for
each platform; other than that the feature sets are comparable. CyberStudio
is Mac-only, which is probably why it was the only product reviewed on a
Mac; when the software is available for both platforms, magazines tend only
to review the Windows version. (GoLive does have a cross-platform authoring
system, but the Windows version is a different product; CyberStudio was
designed for the Mac from the ground up and uses all the typical MacOS
extras.)
