IDX Systems Corp. (IDXC) produces software solutions for the health care
provider industry of hospitals and physician group practices. We are
looking for an Associate Technical Writer for either CA or MA.
Primary Duties and Tasks: This role focuses on designing, writing, building
and testing documentation sets that transfer knowledge to internal and
external users. Documentation sets include on-line books, paper books,
on-line Help systems, standalone Help files, web pages and their linked
files. To fulfill this role, technical writers also design and implement
audience and needs analyses, usability assessment of product and
documentation, content analyses, information mapping, and information gap
analyses. Technical writers working three areas that often overlap:
Functional (end-user documentation of product functionality), Process
(internal and en-user documentation of system or suite level installation,
upgrade, maintenance, and editing information and processes), and
Programming (internal and end-user documentation of programming languages,
programming utilities, and other technical areas). An Associate Technical
Writer: Demonstrates working knowledge but is not yet fully proficient in
the following basic skills: Technical writing (e.g. clear organization and
syntax, concise, sequential, examples, bulleted lists). Appropriate tools
include FrameMaker and RoboHelp or similar on-line help tools.
