Subject:Grammar tipsheet--need help developing From:Douglas Max <dmax -at- BELLATLANTIC -dot- NET> Date:Mon, 18 Jan 1999 10:01:15 -0500
Dear Colleague,
You might recall that I asked for your help in developing a tipsheet on
Proofreading and Editing a few months back. We compiled your
suggestions and you'll see the results published on the Techwriters
website.
Now, I have a new mission: to develop a tipsheet on grammar tips. With
your help, I'll compile the list and make it available to you.
Specifically, what tips have you found most helpful to you in
eliminating grammatical mistakes? Or, what are the most common
grammatical mistakes you've seen in the writing you've reviewed? (I know
you make none in the writing you yourself produce!)
These mistakes may include everything from commonly misspelled words,
subject/verb disagreement, punctuation mistakes, etc.
At this point, I think it's best to leave the rules relatively wide
open; hopefully clear categories will leap out at me...but, if you have
suggestions, send them along.
I'm on digest, so would appreciate e-mails to me directly...but I'll
keep my eyes open on the digest just to be sure.

If your contributions come close to what they were previously, I know
I'll be inundated with incredible suggestions soon!
Cordially,
Doug Max
