Subject:No bookmarks in PDF from Word From:Ivan Huska <ivan_huska -at- EPICDATA -dot- COM> Date:Thu, 18 Feb 1999 15:29:58 -0800
I checked the archives and saw messages that claim pdfmaker for Word 97
does wonderful bookmark filled conversions. I have not had such success
with pdfmaker and I would greatly appreciate help from anyone who has.
I have installed pdfmaker and I have a postscript printer driver set up.
The conversion to PDF works fine, but bookmarks are not created.
The document I am converting has paragraph tags that are different from
the standard Word tags, so I mapped the new tags in the Acrobat
preferences, just like it says in the pdfmaker documentation, but it
still doesn't work. I am using Distiller to convert the .ps file
(recommended in the documentation) not PDFWriter.
I have FrameMaker, but this is a legacy doc I do not want to convert the
document to FrameMaker, do all the cleanup to make it readable, then
convert to PDF.
Any suggestions?
