I'm sure others will agree, although Word may be the standard for your
group, a Word document (or even Master will separate chapter books) that has
a total length of 500 pages and includes screen shots and tables is not
going to work for Word.

I know of no reliable tool within Frame or as a third party add on that is
up to the challenge that you face. You are far better off informing your
managers that the document requirements can only be supported with a tool
like Frame. If they balk, suggest having the engineering team work together
to break the systems documentation into several smaller projects and publish
a suite of small manuals (that should set them back in the right direction).

I have work extensively with both Frame and Word, and while I prefer Word
(please no ProFrame flames) your requirements will tax and exceed the limits
of what Word can do well. If you elect to proceed, you can expect many long
hours fixing problems and wrestling to get Word to work in a manner that
Frame could easily handle without flinching.

Good luck.
