South Central Chapter/ASI Embedded Indexing Workshop
Subject:South Central Chapter/ASI Embedded Indexing Workshop From:"Michael C. Rossa" <rossa -at- FLASH -dot- NET> Date:Thu, 11 Mar 1999 20:17:03 -0600
The South Central Chapter of the American Society of Indexers is pleased to
announce our Spring Meeting/Workshop, "Embedded Indexing and Electronic
Documents," to be held on Saturday, April 10, 1999 at the Radisson Hotel &
Suites Dallas, 2330 Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75220.
We are excited to offer this valuable full-day workshop, led by Larry S.
Bonura, a well-known technical writer and indexer in the Dallas/Fort Worth
Metroplex.
Larry says this about the workshop:
"Many of us have to create our indexes using electronic publishing or help
authoring packages for online documents. Sometimes these packages can
present quite a challenge to getting the index out the door. This workshop
will discuss how to create embedded indexes--those indexes that have to be
created in an electronic publishing tool, using Word and FrameMaker. Also,
we'll look at using RoboHELP to create online documents with indexes."
Larry Bonura is the author of The Art of Indexing, published by John Wiley
& Sons, and teaches indexing seminars to technical documentation
specialists across the nation. He is a senior member of the Society for
Technical Communication (Lone Star Chapter) and the Region 5 STC Indexing
SIG regional representative. He is a technical writer and web designer who
has worked in the telecommunications, computer, database, and Internet
fields. Larry is also a member of the American Society of Indexers (South
Central Chapter).
