Documentor, Documentation & Training, SF
CNET has a position available for a technical documentor and trainer. The
new hire will be responsible for developing and delivering instructor-led
training, online training materials, and support documentation for several
in-house products. The new hire will also work with Technology groups to
create group websites for the corporate Intranet.
Documentation & Training
Responsibilities include: documentation, training, and usability of tools
created by the Technology department for CNET; graphics and editing support
for the Technology department; process analysis and policy development; and
maintenance of the department intranet
D&T's customers are:
CNET employees who use the tools created by the Technology department; and
Technology employees who need to learn about the department policies and
procedures.
Documentor
Design and implementation of small-sized documentation projects (for
example, online documentation for a specific software system). This includes
determining documentation requirements, interacting with Technology members,
writing for wide variety of document & materials, page layout and
organization, and maintenance of documentation.
Desktop publishing, including page layout and word processing; graphics
design and development. Documentors should possess excellent writing skills,
self-direction, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a
virtual cross-country team.
Background
Education
The qualified candidate should have at least two years of technical
documentation or training experience and a relevant bachelor's degree.
Skills
The successful applicant will have these skills:
HTML Authoring , 2 years
Ability to create web-ready documents using HTML with or without an HTML
editor.
FrameMaker , 2 years
Ability to use FrameMaker to create documents and books.
Word , 2 years
Ability to use Word to create documents.
The applicant should also have a working knowledge of:
