TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I was referred to this list as a good place for editors to get help with
their questions and problems. While I'm not a technical writer, I am a
copy editor for PhD candidates at the university where I work.
I am interested in finding wizards or templates for different
dissertation styles. I know that MSWord 97 has a template for Chicago
style, but I'd also be interested in templates for APA style, AP style,
and MLA style papers, theses and dissertations.
I'm also curious about such bibliographic software as EndNote and
Reference Manager. While I've seen these packages, I've never used
them, and I wonder whether they would be of any use to me.
If I've asked the wrong group, please excuse me; or better yet, refer me
to a better group to ask if possible.
