OMI International, Inc. is currently
looking for a technical communicator to begin working immediately in Richardson,
TX. OMI is a software development company specializing in warehouse management
(WMS), invoicing, billing, and yard/dock management systems for the grocery
industry. OMI’s applications are a comprehensive suite of solutions
designed to interact seamlessly to provide a complete business management system
tailored for the needs of food and perishables distribution.
You will develop material for
reference manuals, user manuals, technical installation guides, online help,
corporate intranet, and possibly computer-based training (CBT).
We are looking for a writer who meets
the following criteria:
* 1-2 years relevant experience
documenting software, will consider a recent graduate with excellent writing,
analyzing, and organizational skills.
* holds at least a Bachelor's degree, a degree in Technical Communication is preferred. * all printed documentation is written using Adobe FrameMaker and converted to Adobe Acrobat format for distribution. Online Help is authored using RoboHTML. Experience with FrameMaker, Acrobat and/or RoboHelp is preferred but not required. * ability to maintain multiple documentation projects simultaneously. * takes initiative-is a self-starter. * enjoys working with programmers and product installers/trainers. * ability to occasionally travel to client sites. * knowledge of distribution warehouse operations would be a plus but not required.
