I use the word "effort" for all these terms. "Effort-month" if you need
the time. The originals are politically incorrect and their corrections
are awkward!

Subject: Manmonth or Peoplemonth?
Hi all,
I'm writing a process document for my client and need to describe the
software estimating process.
Has anyone found a gender-neutral term for things like man-hour,
man-month,
etc?
Also (and unrelated), does any one have a preference for using
cross-referencing in MS-Word vs. hyperlinking with a bookmark, and if
so,
why? When would you use cross referencing vs vanilla hyperlinks?
Thanks for any info or advice.
