Help.
We've recently upgraded to Acrobat 4.0. We are using FrameMaker 5.5 on
Windows 95.
We create book files in Frame and then save them as PDF. We select the
appropriate "style" headings to include in the PDF and expect the bookmark
heirarchy to mimic that of our book in the PDF. Doesn't happen.
In the previous Acrobat version 3.0, the same thing happened. To fix this,
after pdf generation, we would simply drag the bookmarks to the proper
parent location. We effectively matched the chapter title with the headings
in that chapter. It was a pain, but it was an easy fix. In 4.0, however, we
can't drag the chapter title in the "parent" space above the list of
headings, or at least we haven't figured out how to do this.
I called Adobe Acrobat support and they tell me it's a FrameMaker issue. Our
FrameMaker support has expired. So, we have to pay if we want any
information. Big surprise. I've searched their support databases, but have
been unable to find the solution.
Anyway, perhaps an example would help. Let's say I've chosen to save the
file as PDF and have selected the following paragraph styles:
Chapter Title
Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Appendix
Index
After being distilled, our PDF bookmarks look something like this:
When I try to drag the Chapter 3 title above Heading 1 and directly below
Chapter 2 into the "parent" position, Acrobat 4.0 won't let me. I get a
circle with a slash through it.
Would anyone care to venture a guess as to what my problem (with this issue
anyway) might be?
I get the digest version, so if you do respond to the list, would you please
cc me? You can always respond directly.
Thanks a lot!
