Description:

With an increasing number of choices available for delivering online help and
documentation, the importance of standardizing on processes, tools, and design
cannot be overestimated. Organizational guidelines, templates, and style sheets
all play critical roles in making the deployment of online user assistance
cost-effective, reproducible, and less prone to error.

Join us at this month's OCN meeting for a presentation that explores how online
communication standards can be effectively developed and used within your
organization, as well as how one company, Unisys Corp., is currently employing
them. The presentation will be delivered jointly by Ben Weisner, Weisner
Associates Inc., and Jay Lieberman, Unisys Corp.

Jay Lieberman is a Product Information Specialist with thirteen years of
experience producing documentation in paper, WinHelp, and HTML-based formats.
He currently designs, develops, and manages web sites and is a member of the
Unisys Product Information HTML Technical Document Standards team, a team that
created extensive look-and-feel standards and implementation guidelines for a
variety of HTML-based documentation formats.

Ben is the president of Weisner Associates, a software consulting and
development company offering a range of services related to online
information delivery, including consulting, training, and personnel outsourcing
for Windows Help, HTML, and HTML-based help development.
