You'll find "prepend" in the telecom dictionaries. When placing a call,
you sometimes need to prepend numbers to the beginning of the phone number.
These are numbers you dial *before* you dial the phone number. Like the
elephant's trunk, that goes before him. <smile>

Sometimes you need to look in dictionaries for a particular discipline. In
this case, a telecom dictionary would have helped.
