FW: Lengthy Resumes

This post and the post about whether to create separate resumes for
different types of people are related in that we, as resume writers, are
trying to create a resume that pleases everyone.

I don't think that's possible. I try to make my resume reflect my style
of writing and organizing material. Sometimes I tweak it if there's an
obvious need. (Actually, I haven't sent out resumes in a long time. . .I
direct people to my web site and it's worked fabulously). It's kind of
"take me or leave me" attitude. Fortunately, I get a lot of work, but
this attitude may explain why I'm not Vice President of a large
corporation. . .

Oh well.

For those of you wondering: why a web site instead of a resume?

You can include anything and everything. Length is not a problem with a
web site because people tend to be willing to browse. Everything they
view is voluntary -- such as samples of work.
