We solve the blank page issue by designating the
final verso page for notes (if it has no text). Generally the reaction
has
been positive.
I have done exactly the same thing in training manuals. Anything to
avoid that "intentional" comment! :-)
Until recently, when writing I used the Information Mapping tempate
which has a block line (oops jargon - ruled line) after each block of
text and the legend "continued on next page" when a map continues.
While my latest tinkering with the template leaves a blank line rather
than a block line I suppose my feeling is that a well written map or
chapter will naturally indicate it has finished and nothing is missing.
But I must confess that I have not really giving it much thought.
