This is what I hate about you girly tech writers. You're making us ALL look
like sissies, with your frilly, shiny computers.
If you can't produce quality documentation using nothing but sheer will and
a car stereo or stripped-down Gameboy, you need to get out of the business
and enroll in cosmetology school. Now. All the whirring noises and flashing
lights are bound to confuse and baffle chickletheads like you.
That said, I've only used a Mac at one job, and this is over about 20
different companies I've worked at. All of the other jobs I've had have been
in either a Windows or Unix (or Unix-ey) environment. I'm not claiming that
this is typical, just my experience.
What I'd recommend is partitioning your hard drive and running both Linux
and some Windows variation. I'd recommend getting some experience with Macs
as well, but I dunno how you'd go about that economically. What is really
important, IMO, is to demonstrate your flexibility and willingness to learn.
