As the first technical writer at my company, I've inherited a lot of
documents from the various people. One problem I'm running into is locating
a missing file. When a FM file is opening, FM searches for the
linked/referenced graphics files and displays a dialog box when it cannot
find them. For example,
Open document.
File>Generate/Book>select List: List of References>Generate
In Setup List of References dialog box: Include in References: Imported Graphics
(only)>check Create Hypertext Links (very important)>Generate.
When the LOR file is generated, put the cursor on the text line that identifies
the graphic, hold down CTRL+ALT and click the mouse to jump to the location of
the offending graphic. Close the LOR when done and refuse changes to LOR. This
is a handy tool for looking for bad x-refs, too.
Since I haven't seen this cross-posted, are you aware of the Frame Users Group?
See http://www.frameusers.com/ at "Framers Forum."
