I have already told the developers that they have violated windows standards
up the whiz. They gave me a very technical reason why it must be that way.
The Save item is not available until they do the Save As (see, there I go
again).

It violates your expectations. You are not expected to know if the
thing has been saved before. If it hasn't you expect that the SaveAs dialog
will be displayed even if you clicked Save. And, you probably shouldn't be
able to click Save unless you can in fact Save. The application has not
implemented this correctly. All this should be transparent to the user
except when they don't want to use the default name/path suggested in the
SaveAs dialog.

How do I know what I did? Does the task name show up in the Window
Titlebar?
