Grammatical Sasquatch? Re: Grammatical foot in big mouth

Oh wow...I was wondering when this little nag could be tossed around. As a
recent Professional Writing Degree recipient, I was taught in college, as
well as the rest of the world that there should always be two spaces after
the period. As soon as I hit the fast-paced, exciting world of Tech Writing
(Computer hardware/software), I found out that under NO circumstances will I
EVER put two spaces after a period. When I said, "But, but..." the response
was, "No buts...no exceptions." So...a part of my final editing process
involves using the search and replace to take out any double spaces after a
period.
