I think you actually got the average raise for a good review. If you did
poorly, you wouldn't get a raise at all. The average worker would probably
have to fight to get a raise that keeps up with inflation. A really kick-ass
worker would have to threaten to walk before getting a substantial pay hike.
People like to take good things for granted...
And now off-topic: Why are banks allowed to pay less interest than the rate
of inflation on the money you put in? It should be against the law.
