I, for one, like hearing about what is happening in this profession - including
what type of raises to expect. My first raise at this company was around 3%
(standard for retail). I felt insulted because I had come from the software
industry and was accustomed to higher raises. When they saw my reaction,
another 7% was anted up a couple of months later.
I suppose we all come across threads that we are not interested in - thus the
use of the Delete key. Eric dictates what is and isn't appropriate for the
list, and postings specifically about what is and isn't appropriate are
specifically mentioned as being not appropriate in the list of rules. I hate
those postings more than anything because in passing judgment on other posters
that MIGHT be off topic, they ARE off topic.
Besides, we could always go back to discussing one vs. two spaces after
periods........
