Hey gang,

Is there such a thing as a
software package that monitors changes to a web site? Whenever a change
is made to a page, this software would search through the web site (all the
pages) and look for anything that might be affected by that change, such
as:
links to the changed section
similar text throughout the web site (that might also need to be changed)

The software couldn't be perfect or complete, but like a spell checker,
could give a quick list of warnings ("hey, is that change going to
affect any of these pages that happen to have the same words in the same
proximity to each other? <list of 15 pages, showing the paragraphs that
contain similar words>") You could set the program to different levels
of warnings if you felt it was giving you too many or too few.

I don't suppose such a program exists, does it?
