DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
60% -- Design and develop interactive, multimedia-enhanced
CD-ROM/Internet-linked training materials for Internet routing software,
using existing and newly developed training materials.
20% -- Consult with software engineers to assure accuracy of training
materials. Consult with users to assure effective utilization of
training materials.
10% -- Assure accurate replication and updating of training materials
for in-person and stand-alone formats.
5% -- Assess market needs and trends to advise on development
priorities and pricing structures
5% -- Work with technical teams to develop familiarity with products,
release schedules, and to advise on customer needs.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Supervision is received from a manager or other designated official.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Functional supervision may be exercised over other staff members on a
project basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree including computer-based, instructional design
course work or an equivalent combination of education and experience is
necessary.
Considerable experience in communicating technical concepts and
information in written and multimedia formats to a wide range of users
is necessary.
Experience working with audio-video captures and editing is necessary.
Ability to work with multimedia presentation techniques is necessary.
Good written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
Ability to work productively with a team is necessary.
A Master's degree in instructional design and/or Internet-based distance
learning or an equivalent combination of education and experience is
desirable.
Knowledge of Internet networking and routing concepts is desirable.
Experience editing and publishing technical documentation is desirable.
Strong understanding of WWW presentation and design issues is desirable.
Ability to work on multiple computer platforms, including UNIX, is
desirable.
Ability to work independently toward team-defined goals is desirable.
