I also use Visio, but only for drawing diagrams as illustration in
manuals. Frankly, I think it's a bit crap...unless you are very familiar
with it all, it takes a good bit of trawling to find the shapes you
want.
I usually use the Block diagrams of business diagrams, though...

I use Visio, but only for data flow and network diagrams. I've never
heard of
anyone using it to outline tech writing projects before. What kind of
projects are you planning to use it for?
