Subject:Renaming data elements From:PHILA -at- MAIL -dot- VIPS -dot- COM Date:Wed, 25 Aug 1999 15:46:20 -0400
Hello again...
Our development team is brainstorming names for data elements (facts, in
data warehousing terms) that measure a range of time: Date Admitted-Min and
Date Admitted-Max, for example. These are always specific dates, and they
always come in min-max pairs with "min" being the newest occurrence, "max"
being the oldest. Some of the suggestions have been:
Alternate Date Fact
Interval Fact
Period Fact (rejected as too close to another fact name)
Range Fact
I've been flipping through Webster and mulling furiously, but blinding
flashes are not forthcoming.
Might any of you have a suggestion to add to the pot?
Many thanks!
