Gang,
We've moved, and if you're reading this message, your
address has been moved over to the new TECHWR-L.
I tried to retain all subscription options as we moved,
but there's certainly a good possibility that something
fell through the cracks...moving to a new list processing
software package as well as a new host has been an interesting
challenge. If I messed up your subscription, I'm quite sorry,
and will be happy to help fix it (although if you could give
it a shot yourself, I'd appreciate it).
More information about the move, changes, and more will be
forthcoming shortly, but in the meantime, here are a couple
of answers to anticipated questions.
Nifty features:
* Point your news reader to news://lists.raycomm.com/techwr-l
to read through the new news server.
* HTML-formatted messages, attachments, and similar stuff will
be returned to sender--the list should be mostly free
of automatically-added garbage.
* Sponsorship messages in every posting and every digest help
support the new list and new services. In other words,
the sponsors make it possible for TECHWR-L to continue,
so please support them if at all possible.
Known issues:
For a number of reasons, this weekend was optimal for the
changeover--unfortunately, the software release schedule
from Lyris, the list software manufacturer, didn't cooperate.
Regular (nomime) digest readers will see duplicates of all
messages, but that should be cleared up within the week.
The archives will be migrated to the new host as quickly
as possible, but if you seek at lists.raycomm.com and do
not find, try www.documentation.com or contact ejray -at- raycomm -dot- com -dot-
A minor (and fortunately unrelated-to-the-move) problem with
our ISP led to the temporary disappearance of www.raycomm.com.
If you're looking for the TECHWR-L site and can't find it,
check at http://lists.raycomm.com/ -- the regular site at
www.raycomm.com exists and will be accessible at that address
as soon as Internet name records are updated.
