I don't know how successful this site is in bringing together the clients
and freelancers together, but I know there is a page to do that. The site
is www.sixdegrees.com and is based on the idea of "six degrees of
separation." Try it, it certainly can't hurt.

Subject: On-line bidding for writing/translating contracts

: Hi Folks,
:
: I live in a corner of the world where industry commerce and technology
are
: not exactly thick on the ground. Hence the prospect of being able to bid
on
: worldwide jobs via an internet auction is a valuable one.
:
: In my function as translator I've recently been contacted by a new
internet
: based "marketplace" for contract writing jobs. It's at
: http://www.myconduit.com, and has only been in place for a few days, so
: there's no track record yet.
:
: But that contact brings up a question that I'd like to put to list
members.
: While the internet auction of things is old hat, bringing buyers and
: sellers together in an auction of services seems somewhat less
: straightforward. And so the prospect of being able to bid worldwide on
: writing contracts has as far as I'm aware, remained a mostly a prospect.
:
: Or am I wrong? Is there a site (maybe even several??) which already has a
: successful track record in bringing clients and freelancers together, in
an
: on-line auction format, for contracts in translating/technical
: writing/copywriting and similar jobs?
:
: Any personal experiences, recommendations?
:
: Cheers & thanks
