you coould try opening a new file and trying to "add slides from file",
navigate to your problem file, and see ifyou can import the slides from the
old file into your brand new one. It might not work since PP isn't
recogniszing the file buts its worth a shot.

A colleague is running above in Win 95.
He had a 3.2Mb file.
When he started a save, MS PP hung.
He killed it with CTRL-ALT-DEL..
Tried to open his file - no dice.
Tried reboot, tried on my PC - no go.
He gets a message "PP can't open the type of file represented by
<filename>."
Of course the extension and name are OK.
I figure PP must have corrupted the file. Any solutions for recovering?
