I submit that it's a pretty good tool for a wide range of tasks,
with lots of graphic, layout, and typographic control available.
It outputs to PDF pretty well, too.
I also use Pagemaker a bit (5.0, and 6.5 Plus) but greatly prefer VP.
(possibly because I've used it since 1.2 or thereabouts...)
