TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
We used to say, "Illegitimi non carborundum!" It's lousy Latin, but it's
epigrammatic.
You'll find a bunch of good, funny (and correct!) Latin sayings in *Latin
for All Occasions* by Henry Beard (or Henricus Barbatus, if you prefer). He
has a sequel out, too, but I preferred the original.
And remember, "Ad summa contendimus!"
Gaudeamus Igitur.

Subject: Grind you down
For those that have been around this list for a long
time, there was a discussion about a phrase in latin
that, loosely, translated into
"Don't let the bastards grind you down"
My girlfriend just started a new job and I'd like to
get a desk sign with the slogan, but I cannot find it
in a search of the archives.
Anyone remember it or still have it around?
Thanks
