I'd be interested in reading any documentation department mission
statements that you use or have heard. Looking for opinions. I have a
rough draft of what I want to incorporate into it, but I respect the
comments of the lists I've sent this to. Also, if anyone has heard of a
website that directly addresses developing a documentation department
(with articles about potential pitfalls, success stories, etc), I'd
appreciate any URLs.
The statement I've been charged with answering is: "Why does [our
company] need to provide quality documentation?"
