In reviewing a colleague's draft of an online help system, I have noticed
many places where she uses "Cc" as a verb, as in the following example:"If
you want to Cc the email to another user,..."
I've looked in the MS Computer Dictionary, 3rd ed. and find "Cc" listed as a
noun only. To my ear, it sounds too informal to use in online help and I
think "send a copy to" would be more appropriate.
Moreover, if you would use "Cc" as a verb in your docs, what would be its
object: email or the person sent the copy? Would you "Cc the email to John"
or "Cc John"?
Sorry if this topic has been brought up in the past, but searching the
archives with "Cc" returned an enormous number of matches.
