I suggest that you open Options under the Tools pull-down menu; go to the
section dealing with "Nonprinting Characters" in the View tab, and select
"All". (This will show you all extraneous carriage returns, section breaks,
page breaks, and so forth.)
Close that, and go to the View pull-down menu; select "Normal" and push on
to the end of your document. The odds are, that you'll find an extra line
feed (carriage return) or a section break or a page break that caused the
extra page.
Good luck.
(Word used to be such a good friend, didn't it?)
