Subject:TOOLS: Problem converting HTML to PDF -- RESOLVED From:"Joyce Fetterman" <Joycef -at- gtsoftware -dot- com> To:<COPYEDITING-L -at- LISTSERV -dot- INDIANA -dot- EDU>, <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Tue, 22 Jan 2008 12:34:02 -0500
(Cross-posted to CE-l and TECHWR-l because I posted the question on both
lists)
It turns out that the problem I had in converting HTML to PDF (getting
60" pages) was caused by a corrupted Acrobat Preferences folder. I
removed the folder, restarted Acrobat (which created a clean Preferences
folder), and now the documents convert correctly.
You might keep that in mind if Acrobat starts giving you trouble. The
Adobe tech support rep said that it's hard to know why the folder was
corrupted; it just happens sometimes, and system updates could be the
culprit. I had installed WinXP updates just before this problem started.
