TECHNICAL WRITER

NOTE:
This is not a position for a Release Engineer. Manager is looking for a Technical Writer with background in writing how-to/user manuals for SCM Tools (ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, TeamSite, Hudson, etc.), Please look for candidates with this background experience

Primary Responsibilities:
Work closely with Software Configuration and Release Manager, Release Engineers and Tools Administrators to translate SCM processes and requirements from verbal and raw/sketch forms into formal documentation and presentations to end-user community. Create Release Polices, SOP and how-to/user manuals for SCM Tools (ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro, TeamSite, Hudson, etc.), and Standard Operation Procedures for Release Engineers, Developers and end-users. Prepare training materials, Release Calendars and other related SCRM documentation as assigned.

Qualifications:
Background in build and release engineering; good understanding of full SDLC as well as build and release concepts.

Experience with gathering requirements & processes from SCM Engineers. Articulate & translate verbal, raw, sketch, and technical design documents into formal documentation

Experience in creating training materials, from PowerPoint slides to web training modules.

Skills:
Excellent writing skills
MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio
Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, RequisitePro is a plus
Source-control branching/merging strategies; UCM concepts
Build & release, and scripting concepts
Must be a team player, proactive and able to communicate well

Additional Skills:
TeamSite, Hudson
Relational database concepts

Education:
BA degree or higher
