Who within the technical writing sphere is responsible for the procurement of technical documentation publishing. As business development manager for short-run digital printing company, we have seen growth in this arena. However, we find many firms have own internal printing areas or outsource to organizations who are just "quick printers" and not document specialists. Curious if the technical writers are responsible for the procurement of the final document or does it flow to other areas or responsibilitiy? Just curious.

I am looking for feedback from any and all writers - Our Document Managment software is not meeting our expectations and it is time for us to look for a new Document Management system. I am wondering what software everyone is using and what your level of satisfaction is with the software - it would be nice to know what you like about the software and maybe identify the downfalls if there are any. We are looking to migrate to an authoring tool to manage content(ie: FrameMaker) and have a supporting Document Management System.

I am writing an online help system, the customer wants the system to work like this:1. User is in the application and clicks on Help. 2. Screen-level help is displayed in the right pane with the standard RoboHelp TOC in the left pane. 3. So far, I can generate context help, which displays the screen-level help, or I can generate the standard help system. I can't figure out how to get the screen-level help with the TOC.
