If you do the pitch, I suggest you emphasize how good tech docs increase
sales, increase customer satisfaction, and reduce the cost of technical
support. Also, point out that quality tech docs require far more than
clearly written text with correct spelling.
Our primary role is to help users do their work with minimal effort and
confusion, not to glorify the wonderful design by the developers. In fact,
wonderful tech docs do tend to glorify the wonderful design by the
developers.
