There is a company named Information Mapping(R) which has a registered
trademark on the name (judging by the cover of their brochure). Their URL
is <http://www.infomap.com>.
They gave a presentation at the Austin STC meeting a couple months ago.
Overall, it seemed to me like just a bunch of tech writing platitudes
wrapped in some psychoanalytical theory by a consulting firm.
If you know how to organize data and use tables, bullets, and whitespace;
you know how to map information.
