I was an almost-teacher that became a tech writer. I used to want to teach,
high school even! And every now again I still have the urge. But I decided
that I didn't want to be a police officer. That's what I felt high school
teachers have become, at least more so. I wanted to impart knowledge not
tell them to spit out their gum and don't do this and that and the other
thing. I happened into tech writing and love it because I see it as a form
of teaching (as some others have posted).
