TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I've spent the past 1 1/2 years helping to redefine, setup and grow a
documentation department here at EarthLink. It's been lots of hard work
combined with long hours and more frustration than I care to remember. Not
that I regret it...I enjoyed most of it...just be careful about the grass
appearing greener elsewhere.
Things have calmed down tremendously since the beginning of the new year,
and I am loving it! I enjoy finally being able to sit down and write,
instead of running around putting out fires all day.
