TIPS for Neophyte Who Must Create Index for Large Word Policy Doc?
Subject:TIPS for Neophyte Who Must Create Index for Large Word Policy Doc? From:"Robert B Kennedy" <bobbykennedy44 -at- home -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 8 Mar 2001 21:38:43 -0500
Hello Whirlibirds and Happy Birthday All,
I have been tasked (don't you love that verb?)
with creating an Index for a 200-page
Corporate Security Framework Document in
Word 2000, -- and I'm an Index Virgin.
Or a Virgin at indexes. (You get the picture.)
And I thought -- wait, there are people in
this list who probably do this on the weekends,
they love indexing so much... so...
Any TIPS on handling an Index for a large, detailed
document in Word for an Index Virgin?
(Anything I should avoid doing, like tagging every
noun or anything else that would help me
get a grip on this? Any web resources I could
check on?)
