Subject:Bullets n' numbering - can they coexist? From:Meg Halter <aiki4us -at- yahoo -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- raycomm -dot- com> Date:Thu, 15 Mar 2001 09:22:01 -0800 (PST)

What I want to do is be able to put bullets on the left side of
the numbered/custom outline numbers. Is this possible? My boss
likes the lookof it... from an online example of a functional
spec found at http://www.hut.fi/~manu/oht/documents/tm.html
-------------------------
Hi Ken --
I don't think you can do this. But aside from that why would you
want to? (Aside from the boss wanting it, of course!) Bullets
are usually used to make structure of a list clear. In the page
you cite, the outline numbers serve that function. All the
bullets do is add clutter. If I wer to come across such an
arrangement, I'd stop and stare at it for a bit to try and
figure out what I was missing. ("Gee, the bullets must mean
something independent of the numbers. What could it be?")
Just my 2% of $1.
