Process (Software Development) was faster. We went from SEI level 0 (chaos)
to SEI Level 1, which moved us from betas to tiers. Several tiers are
delivered before the beta. In a tier, the functionality is supposed to
completely finished. We were able to get these tier releases done with a lot
less effort, and not see as much churn.
Before we could upgrade the process maturity, the company had to IPO. Public
companies have a very different culture, and cannot afford to be developer
centric. Before the IPO, we were developer centric.
