I find that it is the stock splits that more telling when evaluating a
company. If you get options going in and the company has never split in
three years of operation, the price won't matter, because the company has
been paying out bonuses with the retained earnings rather than adjusting the
stock price. Paying out cash bonuses is ok. But, cash bonuses are a sign
that the company is not building wealth. And, the company is also left with
less stock to acquire other companies with.
