Since I'm male, I can't really speak to how I've been discriminated in the
workplace because of my gender. But I'm married to a development programmer
with over 30 years experience in the field (so as not to give the impression
that she's old, I'll say that she must have been a child prodigy <g>), and she
has some great stories, most of which have been mirrored by experiences already
related in this thread. So I won't bore by repeating.

But I would like to ask a related question that matches her experience. She's
often complained to me as much about discrimination she's faced from other
women as about male discrimination. Back in the days when there were such, my
wife talked about how (female) secretaries would not take messages for her but
would for her male office mate. Also, she could not get memos and papers typed
in a timely fashion, but comparably 'ranked' and qualified male peers had no
problem with theirs, even rush jobs.

I don't hear so much of this thing these days from my wife, but I wondered if
women Twhirlers have similar experiences along these lines?
