That's a powerful argument in and of itself. So each writer supports 3+ products. What's your quality control? Do you use a style guide if you don't have an editor? No style guide? An editor then would help establish a quality baseline and common "read" to your documents.
Why not try doing a search on www.google.com for "peer editing" or "writer to editor ratios" and see what comes up?
