I'll vouch for this. I had two books on my desk from O'Reilly and a
developer came by to work out as directory structure with me. He saw
the books and immediately commented about how they were the best
books on the subjects.
BTW...to bring closure to the topic, after reading the MANY posts on
my topic, I'm going to look seriously at three launguages, not in any
particular order:
perl, VB, and Java (not to be confused with javascript)
I was surprised at the number of instances that python was mentioned.
Those three...aside from being useful for DOING stuff, they seem to
have the greatest resume-value from a skills-knowledge standpoint.
Thanks for the many responses...they were very helpful.
